These Program Terms (the "Terms") apply to the Campaign. Please read these Terms carefully. The Campaign is also subject to our:
- Rewards Policy;
- Terms of Service, and
- Privacy Policy, which outlines how we process your personal data.
1. DEFINITIONS
Capitalised terms not defined in these Terms have the meanings given to them in our Rewards Policy. The defined term Campaign shall be deemed a "Program" in the Rewards Policy. Otherwise, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
"Campaign" means this refer-a-friend campaign known as the 'TikTok BookTok Rewards Campaign'.
"Campaign Period" means the period starting on 03-31-2023 and ending on 04-14-2023.
"Check In" means an Invitee accessing the referrals page of the Platform and successfully interacting with the active "check in" button interface element following Sign Up. Please note that: (a) interacting with the "check in" button successfully will render it inactive for the remainder of that calendar day; and (b) a Check In may only be completed once a day during the Check In Period (up to a maximum of seven (7) Check Ins).
"Check In Period" means a period of at least seven (7) calendar days commencing the calendar day of each Invitee's Sign Up (inclusive), provided the Invitee completes a Check In.
"Community Guidelines" means our Community Guidelines.
"Invitor" means a user of the Platform who uses their Referral Code to invite Invitees to download and creates an account on the Platform or signs in with their existing account on TikTok App as part of this Campaign.
"Invitee" means a friend of an Invitor who receives a Referral Code from that Invitor to download and creates an account on the Platform or signs in with their existing account on TikTok App as part of this Campaign.
"Platform" means the TikTok Now platform and application.
"Privacy Policy" means our Privacy Policy.
"Referral" has the meaning given to it in section 4b of these Terms.
"Referral Code" means each Invitor's individual referral code accessible from the Campaign page of the Platform.
"Referral Task" means a Referral by an Invitor which results in an Invitee completing a Sign Up.
"Reward" means a reward of points to be converted into Vouchers collected by you in your Wallet on the occurrence of certain actions, as specified further in these Terms.
"Rewards Balance" means your balance of Rewards collected under the Campaign.
"Rewards Policy" means our Rewards Policy.
"Sign Up" means where an Invitee receives a Referral Code from an Invitor and uses that Referral Code to download and create an account on the Platform.
"Terms" means these terms and conditions.
"Terms of Service" means our Terms of Service.
"User" means a user of the Platform, which includes Invitors and Invitees.
"Voucher" means a reward in the form of a voucher or gift card for a third party provider.
"Wallet" means your Rewards Activity Wallet on the Platform.
2. CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION AND DURATION
- The Campaign is a refer-a-friend campaign which enables an Invitor to invite Invitees to Sign Up to the Platform and subsequently Check In to allow that Invitor and each Invitee to collect Rewards as set out in more detail in section 5 of these Terms.
- The Campaign will last for the Campaign Period. We reserve the right to extend the Campaign at our discretion by updating these Terms.
3. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMPAIGN
- In addition to the requirements set out in section 1 of our Rewards Policy, in order to participate in the Campaign and collect Rewards each Invitor and Invitee must:
- be resident in the Territory;
- be at least 18 years old;
- not be an employee, officer or contractor of TikTok; and
- have complied with all relevant obligations and not be in breach or suspected breach of these Terms, our Rewards Policy, our Terms of Service, our Community Guidelines or any other applicable policies.
- In addition, an Invitee must:
- be a new user of the Platform;
- not have used another Referral Code to join the Platform and collect Rewards;
4. HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMPAIGN
- Participation in the Campaign is free of charge.
- To participate as an Invitor, you must:
- access your Referral Code; and
- send your Referral Code to a friend by, for example, sending a link, TikTok App, Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook and SMS provided always that you have the Invitee's prior consent to contact them to send them the Referral Code, (each of i. and ii. being a "Referral").
- To participate as an Invitee, on receipt of a Referral Code, you must Sign Up (making sure to use the Referral Code) and Check In during the Check In PerioAn Invitee may only use one Referral Code from an Invitor to collect Rewards as part of that Referral. However, that Invitee may subsequently become an Invitor to collect further Rewards as part of this Campaign.
- As an Invitor, you must:
- only invite your friends and personal contacts to the Platform, do not encourage individuals that are not personal friends or contacts to sign up using your Referral Code;
- not spam, mass market and repeatedly send messages to friends using your Referral Code; and
- comply with our Community Guidelines in respect of all messages including your Referral Code.
We reserve the right to suspend the availability of the Campaign to you, if you are not in compliance with these Terms. You will be notified of any suspension.
5. WHAT ARE THE REWARDS AND HOW CAN I COLLECT THEM?
- You will receive Vouchers as Rewards and each Rewards is collected in your Wallet on the occurrence of certain actions.
- As an Invitor, you will collect a Reward:
- Immediately, for each Invitee that successfully completes the Sign Up process on the Rewards Page.
- As an Invitee, you must first complete your Sign Up and then subsequently complete at least one Check In, for which you will collect a Reward amount for each Check In you complete up to a maximum of seven (7) Check Ins during the Check In Period.
6. HOW TO WITHDRAW COLLECTED REWARDS
- During the Campaign, you can check the balance of your collected Rewards in your Wallet. Your Rewards Balance (or any part thereof) is not transferable to other Users of the Platform.
- You may withdraw your collected Rewards by withdrawing your Reward Balance and choosing the Voucher you would like to redeem your Rewards Balance for and follow the instructions applicable to your Voucher.
- The provider of your selected Voucher may have additional conditions to redeem your Voucher. Please check the conditions as may be available by the provider of your Voucher.
- By clicking on the “withdraw” button on the Platform:
- you indicate that you agree to these Terms, our Rewards Policy and our Terms of Service;
- you acknowledge that any withdrawal of Rewards is subject at all times to the applicable laws in the Territory.
- you agree that each withdrawal request will be reviewed and processed by us for security purposes within fifteen (15) calendar days of receipt and the Reward payment order will be issued to the payment method provider within a period thirty (30) days (without regard to any commitments made by the payment method provider as to processing time).
- If you are subject to any taxes by any jurisdiction on any Reward, or subject to any non-waivable rights established by local consumer regulations from which you may benefit, you will be responsible for the payment of such taxes (including any penalties or interest related ) to the tax authority.
- After the Campaign ends, you will have 7 days to withdraw your Rewards Balance (to your selected payment method). After this period has elapsed, your entire Rewards Balance will be reset to zero and we will have no obligation to make any payment to you.
7. PRIVACY
In order to participate in the Program, an Invitee must submit personal data including their Platform username, user ID and device ID and daily Platform check-in status, so that the Invitor may collect rewards as part of the referral. Any personal data will be collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy (link above). Any personal data submitted in order to participate in the Program will be deleted when the Campaign Period ends.
8. VARIATIONS / SUPPLEMENTS TO OUR REWARDS POLICY
We have varied our Rewards Policy for the purpose of this Campaign only. These variations are as follows: sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Rewards Policy do not apply to this Campaign on the basis that they relate to Diamonds, which are not relevant to this Campaign.
